Following are entries in the Memorial Guest Book for Thomas R. Martin, December 5, 1932 – April 13, 2009. Since I’m not sure how long the entries will remain on the funeral site, I’ve reproduced them here so they remain visible forever. I remember how Bapa could fix anything. One time Steven, Nick and I accidentally made a huge hole in the wall in the basement. Bapa came over and patched it up so that you couldn’t even tell that it had happened. Bapa always had the best stories and the best advice for us grandchildren. I miss him terribly. His smile, kind words and karate chops! I know that he is in Heaven, happy and watching us. Love you Bapa.

Hi Hazel, I don’t know if I know you, or you know me. I’ve been a member of the Womans Club for the past three years. I just wanted to extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family in the loss of your loved one. Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the Memorial Service, since I have a prior commitment. Just know that I truly care, and know that at times like this, support from friends and family is important. God bless you and your family.

Dear Hazel and Family, It is with great sorrow that I send this sympathy message to you. I know that Tom was a most cherished husband and father, and that you will all miss him dearly. I also know that you are quite aware that he is now in no pain, and can continue to share your lives from a much better place even if he’s not seen and felt by you. May you all find peace as you move from this grieving time to a time of joyful rememberance of all the time you had together. With love, Molly

Although we only met once when I was able to sit with Tom for a short time, it was clear to me that your life and love together were inseparable. I pray that while Tom rests in the gentle hands of our Lord and Savior you have an opportunity to experience great joy in memories while family and friends gather round in love and support. Sincerely, nan ryan (Elegant Gardeners)

I share in your loss of a great man, husband, father and Marine. It was always a pleasure to visit with him when he was in our hospital. He was always a VIP when he visited South Bay. No matter how ill he was always upbeat and friendly. He always made it clear that you were the love of his life. He was lucky to have you there to support and care for him. Steve
