If you seen combat in Korea you must have got there in Dec.1952 not Dec.1953 as the cease fire went into efect on July 27,1953 and all combat operations ended on that date.I am not saying there wern't incidents as they had them in the 70&80 and still do I aam sure.I was 29th.Draft to Korea and got there in Febuary 1953.As far as I know the Marine Corp had a set tour of duty which was 14 months. The Army used a point system but not the United States Marine Corp.

I've been feeling a little sad this week because I know this month is going fast and December 5th will be here soon. Dad would have been 78, which to me is young, because I'm 56 and at that age, 89 is old to me:) Plus he was always a kid at heart with his dry sense of humor and teasing. I miss him SO MUCH! I miss not being able to talk to him, his straight forward wisdom and his hugs, because I could sure use a BIG DAD HUG right now. Thanks Tim for constantly giving us little gifts of Dad just when we need them. The letters just show how much love he had in his heart and how blessed we were to have him love us. Love you Dad! You many need some kleenex because you'll be smiling and tearing up at the same time, but they are happy love tears!

So hard to believe it's been a year since Dad passed away. I miss him so much and think about him almost every day. I am so glad I moved to Sun City and was able to truly say goodbye to my Dad.

Mom, Lisa and I went to one of his favorite restaurants on Bahia Beach yesterday. Had a wonderful lunch, shared happy memories and enjoyed the view he loved of the water. We all walked on the beach to the pier. Lisa and I held hands and spread his ashes on the water. It was such a beautiful, perfect day for boating and I felt such a sense of peace when the wind blew his ashes across the bay and knew he was smiling at us! I love you Dad!

We're glad Dad isn't suffering anymore, but a day doesn't go by that I don't think about him. Besides the "father-daughter" relationship, I felt fortunate to be able to relate to him on so many levels. We realized and respected each others strengths and weaknesses. I could tell him exactly what I thought; he solicited those ideas and he listened! He always encouraged me to do the best I could do and there never a dream that was criticized or put down. He was my cheering section; he kept me going and strong. When he became so sick he just had energy to maintain, my heart sank realizing how much I would miss our "lunches" talking politics, religion, ideas. I realized how he, Ralph, Bapa R.O., were great influences in my life in the business world. I soaked up their thought processes and people skills. The "how can I make this work" vs "I can't do it because ..." problem solving rationale was instilled in me. There was never a gender bias either. Hey, a Martin is a Martin! Anyway, I miss my "Daddy" very much but know he's in a better place right now.

I could be way off base, but I seem to recall the ECP's could print
100 pulp and 300 foam cartons. Whichever the number or material of
the carton, it was exciting to see the printer in action!
