If they let the Big Three go under, you’re looking at a loss of:

• 3 million jobs
• $151 billion in personal income
• $60 billion in tax revenue

AND AS I SAY:

If they let that happen, it’s the end of the industrialized world as we know it.

Bin Laden is pretty smart.  Just blow something up, and the United States Congress will blunder us into utter ruin.

Back in the 70′s when OPEC was playing their games, domestic energy companies did a huge exploration of the USA and Continental Shelf.  They found enough natural gas that if we converted everything that requires fuel to clean-burning natural gas, the supply was big enough to run the whole country for 2000 years.

Go figure!

Cost a lot to convert?  Maybe. 

But we’d rather pay Arab countries who’d just as soon kill us.
